Louisiana Draft Nutrient Management Strategy now open for public comment. The State is accepting public comment through Jan. 31, 2014 on the draft a strategy to control nutrients in Louisiana waters. This is a wide-ranging effort that may ultimately affect agricultural practices, industrial discharges, municipalities, construction activities, and others that discharge to State waters. A broad range of strategies are discussed, with an emphasis on opportunities for incentive-based programs, leveraging opportunities, and development of science-based new technologies and applications to address nutrient issues in State waters.
